The developers have published Tuesday an update of the Android program making it possible to now directly respond to messages. That is what they made clear in a blog post. For now, only with the Android app of Push Bullet you can respond to all incoming app messages. The app works with Android 4.4 and higher, and also includes a new widget, which allows the service to be active on the home screen. You can turn this instantly on and off. Yet, it is not clear whether there will follow more apps in the near future.
Push Bullet and WhatsApp
Through a Chrome extension you can use Pushbullet for all notifications. Pushbullet will sent it to your phone and directly to your computer. It had been possible for a while to respond directly from the desktop notifications when you received an SMS message. This functionality is expanded and you can use the ‘reply to all’ function to directly respond to all te incoming messages from different messenger apps like WhatsApp and Telegram. Besides this you can respond to messages received via Line, Facebook and Hangouts. For other app it requires an additional operation. To respond to Hangout messages you will need to install the Android app wear. You do not have to configure this app, only the installation is sufficient. Furthermore, PushBullet has developed a handy widget and added it to its application. This simple widget allows you to forward notifications to your computer and put this setting on and off. Almost the same like WhatsApp Web.
Push Bullet for PC and Mac
Users that use the app both on their PC or Mac and their Android device, can push messages from the message services and react directly from the PC. The function will not work on iOS systems that allows such functionality not. In the future this will definitely be possible. Apple need to update their SDK to make this happen. Android is more opensource, and therefor it’s easier to integrate Pushbullet with Android. Push Bullet made it already possible to respond from your PC or Mac to SMS messages that arrive on an Android device. Also, users with the app can share files and links easily from their PC and send it to their smartphone or tablet. Read more about WhatsApp PC.
