From now it is possible to send WhatsApp Messages with your phone thanks to Google Now. It was already to send SMS messages and e-mails via voice commands. Besides WhatsApp, other messaging Apps like Viber, Telegram and WeChat are also supported. For now, only Android devices are supported. In addition, it is necessary that the primary language of your device is English.
This new Google now feature may be a great solution for a small group of WhatsApp users. You don’t longer need to grab your phone and manually type a short message to a friend. No! From now on you simply send messages using your voice. But how does this work? Very simple. You just turn on your phone and start with the voice command “Ok Google”. Now you have the attention of your phone. Next you say “Send a WhatsApp Message to John saying i’ll be there in a hour”. The innovative system of Google now immediately recognizes that you want to send a WhatsApp message that contains the tex “I’ll be there in a hour”. It also recognizes that you want to send it to John.
This is just a very nice feature which is especially useful when you want to send a short and quick message. Of course, sending long messages is far more difficult because the probability of an error is much greater. For now, only the English language is supported. Do you use a different language? Than you need to wait till you can send WhatsApp voice messages with Google Now. Google already stated that they are working on Google Now support for more Apps and languages. But it is still unclear how long this will take. You can read about the updates via this Blog.
